Lulworth
This faux castle was originally built as a hunting lodge in 1610, then became a Catholic chapel, then a residence for French royalty in flight, and finally a family home. Eventually it ended up in the hands of English Heritage who gave a partial restoration from a fire which gutted it in 1929.
