Blenheim Palace
When our friend, Philip Barnett, retired early he promptly re-potted himself as a choir-master, creating four choirs in surrounding towns. He combined them all for a first-time-together performance at Blenheim Palace. The palace was actually a residence, one of the largest in England, for a line of Dukes of Marlborough, then the Churchills for 300 years. Winston Churchill was born here. Now it is a museum, mausoleum, and national monument. I wonder what the taxes were like on the peasants to support such an estate.
