Coyllor Ritty, Glacier Festival
This is a religious festival celebrated at the summer equinox and takes place at the foot of a glacier at about 19,500 feet. The glacier itself has an elevation of 20,000. It combines elements from the Quechua culture with elements provided by the Catholic Church. It is deep in the Andes and requires a five kilometer hike up a canyon to reach the site. We also climbed to the top of the glacier.
