Machu Picchu II
Around 4:00AM of the fourth day of the back-packing trip to Machu Picchu we took off for the final leg. The purpose was to arrive shortly before sunrise so that we could see the sun rise and shine through a doorway known as Inti Puncu, the "sun gate" and illuminate the ruins. It's a stunning sight. That left the rest of the day to clamber about the site. Before I left Maui, one of the brain-stem New Agers infecting the island assured me that aliens had to have built the place since the Incas did not have the means to lug all those big rocks up to the site. Right. The quarry was right there. (This was the same ditz that told me she was adding wheat grass to her diet in order to get rid of the negative eons.)
