Humber Bay Park
The Greater Toronto Area has a population of about 6,000,000, but the megapolis continues east and west along the shore of Lake Ontario and northward as well. When I was first here in 1981 I noticed that the GTA was dotted with little parks and trees. The city's administration has done a great job fighting off the ravaging developers. Humber Bay Park consists of 343 acres on the shore of Lake Ontario at the west end of Toronto, part of a lengthy strip of land that sits between the lake and a bunch of condos. It is about 20 minutes from where I live and it is where I do my daily walk, regardless of the weather. Since the beginning, according to my FitBit, I have averaged 8034 steps and 5.74 kilometers (3.57 miles) per day. The environs make it a lovely daily experience despite my aching, 81 year-old legs.
